Ice De Cristal Tutorial
MATERIALS:
-Silk, Paper or Ribbon Flowers/Components (Butterflies, Leaves, etc...)
-ICE Resin Kit (stir stick, small or large plastic measuring cups, surgical gloves)
-Mod Podge
-Bowl (for Mod Podge)
-Wax Paper (or plastic sheeting)
-Tape
-2 Sponge Brushes
-Fine Sugar Glitter (optional
-Jewel Glue (optional to glitter edges of components)
TIPS:
-Components will need to air dry after each Mod Podge & Ice Resin Application.
-Clean & Dry brushes, bowl, measuring cups, and gloves, between applications (you can let the
Mod Podge dry on the surface, then peel it off. To remove ICE Resin, you can let it dry and peel
            it off, or use acetone).
-Before you begin the ICE Resin process, change the wax paper on your work table.

1-Cover your work table with wax paper (plastic sheeting). Tape down corners.

2-Gather and arrange your materials on your work table.

3-Pour Mod Podge into a bowl.

4-Put on your surgical gloves, take your first component and using your sponge brush, liberally brush on
the Mod Podge. Be sure to cover the entire surface (front & back). If you are using layered flowers
(roses), you may want to give them a Mod Podge bath. Thoroughly saturate the component. Remove
from bowl and let excess drip off, or use your brush to remove the access.
*It is very important to coat the entire piece.*

5-Lay the component on its side, on the wax paper cover work table, over night or until completely dried (it will feel tacky to the touch if its still wet)

6-Repeat this process two more times. On the last coating you can sprinkle on the fine sugar glitter.
*It is very important to let your components dry between coatings.*

7-On the fourth day (making sure your pieces are thoroughly dry). Mix your ICE Resin, according to the
manufactures instructions, or watch B'sue's YouTube video for complete mixing instructions.

8-Put on your gloves and with clean wax paper (on your work table) and sponge brush, dip your brush  into the ICE Resin and apply a thin layer over the surface of the entire piece.
*I don't recommend a ICE Resin bath. It's best to just cover you component in a thin layer.*
9-When you have completely coated your piece with ICE Resin set it on your wax paper work table, on its
     side.

10-Let your components cure and dry for a least 2 days (or until thoroughly dried). If you need to you can
add a second or third coat, curing and drying between coats.

11-Your components will be rock hard when the complete process is done.
*Silk flowers are bendable when the process is completed.*

12-Now you have a beautiful Ice De Cristal components that are completely waterproof and can be
used for a variety of crafting projects.
*If you get ICE Resin on your skin, use acetone (nail polish remover) to clean you're skin.*
